INSTRUCTOR

Etienne Carreira started his on-going 24 year professional dance career during his teenage years while attending the prestigious Las Vegas Academy of the Performing Arts where he attended & majored in dance by day while entertaining people on stage at night with his first show Imagine at the Luxor hotel. His invaluable work ethic, personality, attention to detail & self-awareness made him an asset to every project in which he was a part of. Etienne relocated in 2001, alongside his brother & continued to train under Flo-Master, Kujo, Tara Foy, Tavres Wilson, Roger Lee & Sky Hoffman. While in Los Angeles, he booked various national commercials & industrials with ATT, Coke, Skechers & Dodge. He also has worked with A-List artists Jessica Alba, Pink & Jennifer Lopez on film & on stage & has worked with industry powerhouses Dave Lachapelle, Tabitha & Napoleon D’umo & Kenny Ortega. Etienne has an extensive breaking pedigree as one of the founding members of the world famous “Battle Born” Crew. He has paved the way for his crew to travel & compete both nationally & internationally, winning both national & international world titles in competitions such as Battle of the Year, World of Dance - San Diego, B-Boy Summit, Outbreak & Style Elements Anniversary. Dubbed “the Footwork King,” Etienne has battled, judged and taught workshops in 18 different countries over the span of 5 different continents. Currently Etienne is a featured dancer in Cirque du Soleil’s Michal Jackson ONE at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, while previously working on the Beatles LOVE at the Mirage Hotel & Casino. He has also previously worked the Jabbawockeez Mus.i.c show at the Luxor, Revealed with Toni Braxton at the Flamingo as well as the legendary show Splash which ran at the Rivera. Etienne more recently has geared his focus towards dance education by opening up his own dance school the Alchemy Breaking Academy (formerly known as “The Breaking Academy) in 2019 alongside his brother & two partners Kareem Gwinn & Alex Delgado. From there Etienne he continues to share his passion for dance & knowledge by teaching for the esteemed Joffrey Ballet School intensives & is on faculty at Millennium Dance Complex Las Vegas where he & his brother hold a weekly Breaking class centered on professional dancers looking to train & widen their scope of movement as well as a second class focused on technique with a student base which is all ages from kids to adults.
